How long does it take to get NHA CCMA results?

Right away at a school site; within 48 hours at PSI or online

The NHA Candidate Handbook's Score Reports section gives both timings. NHA's CCMA page puts the second one as within two days of scoring, which says the same thing in other words.

§01

Timing by where you test

The wait depends on the venue. Your result has nothing to do with it.

Where you testWhen you see a resultWhat you see first

Live remote proctoring (online)Within 48 hoursYour score report in your NHA account

Per the NHA Candidate Handbook, Score Reports. Choosing a venue is covered on the online-testing page.

The 48-hour window applies to everyone who tests at a PSI center or from home, pass or fail. Use the gap for one small, useful job: write down the topics that felt shaky while they're fresh. If you need a retake, that list is page one of the plan; if you pass, it's what to brush up before your first shift.

§02

From exam day to certificate

Five steps. Only the first two involve waiting.

  1. Exam day

    You finish the 180 questions

At a school site, the preliminary report appears now.

  2. Within 48 h

    Score report posted

For PSI and online testing. It shows your scaled score, pass or fail, and a band for each domain.

  3. After a pass

    Print your certificate

From your NHA account, under My Achievements.

  4. After a pass

    Your name is verifiable

NHA lists certified candidates in its public Verification Tool. Failed attempts and scores are not shown there.

  5. Every 2 years

    Keep it current

The credential has to be renewed; see renewal.

§03

Reading the report

Same report whether you passed or not. The bands matter either way.

Scaled score

A number on the 200 to 500 range. The pass line is 390.

Above / Near / Below

Your performance in each of the seven test-plan domains against the passing standard. A Below band is the clearest pointer to what to study next.

N/A

Printed for a content area that had 5 or fewer questions on your form, because that's too few to judge.

§04

Reports, certificates and rescoring

Is the result at a school site final?

It's reported as preliminary, shown right after the exam.

Where do I find my CCMA results?

In your NHA account. After a pass, the certificate is printed from My Achievements in the same account.

Does the score report show which areas I was weak in?

Yes, as a band for each of the seven domains: Above, Near or Below the passing standard.

Can an employer see that I failed an attempt?

The public Verification Tool does not show failed attempts or scores.

How long do I have to request a rescore?

60 days for a hand rescore (written request, a fee may apply) and 30 days for a score appeal.
